A very lucky Powerball player in California has won the multistate lottery’s $44 million jackpot prize, ending a streak of 3 consecutive drawings without a grand prize winner.
The winners of the world-record jackpot overcame odds of 1 in 292.2 million to land on all the numbers: 1-2-15-23-28 and Powerball 10. The power play multiplier was 2X.
The huge draw also produced one $1 million winner (Nebraska) who matched all five white balls but missed the red Powerball.
There were also 6 tickets that won a $50,000 prize, and 7 tickets that won $100,000 prizes, and 1 ticket (California) worth $40,867.
The total prize money for the awards reaches over $2.88 million.
