All Across Europe, the EuroMillions Superdraw drawing produced more than 2,818,700 winning tickets, with players winning lower-tier cash prizes worth a combined €15.46 million.

The EuroMillions Superdraw is a very special event that is scheduled by the lottery a few times a year. While the EuroMillions jackpot normally starts at only €17 million, for a Superdraw the minimum jackpot is boosted to a minimum starting jackpot of €130 million.

From there on the jackpot can roll over all the way up to the new jackpot cap of €250 million, after which it can remain at that amount for up to four drawings. If the jackpot still isn’t won, the prize many rolls down to be divided among the winners of the next highest prize tier on the fifth drawing.

The Superdraw follows EuroMillions usual rules, so in order to play you have to pick five numbers from a guess range of 1 to 50 as well as two additional numbers from a range of 1 to 12. You have to match all seven numbers to win the top prize, but there are another 12 secondary prizes you could still with even a partial match.

EuroMillions’s draws take place every Tuesday and Friday at 21:00 CET.

How long do winners have to claim their prize money?

Winners from different countries have different deadlines to claim their prize.

In Austria, winners have a whole three years to claim the prize before it is returned to the lottery and used to fund boosted prizes.

Belgian winners, on the other hand, only have around 140 days before the money is returned to the Belgian National Lottery.

The least amount of time to snap up the jackpot goes to France and Luxembourg.

French winners only have 60 days to claim the money or it will be used to fund special promotions. This is supposed to create “a number of millionaires over the course of a week”.

Players from Luxembourg also have just 60 days to claim the win before it’s returned to the lottery’s reserve fund.

Winners from Ireland, Portugal and Spain all have around 90 days to tell the world they’ve won.

Meanwhile, Switzerland and the UK winners have 180 days to claim the prize before it is distributed elsewhere.

If you buy tickets outside Europe through Lottery Messenger Services like theLotter, the service provider will help you claim the prize quickly and validly according to the regulations of country where the physical ticket is registered for you.

The jackpot for the next draw will reset to €17 million. Draws continue every Tuesday and Friday night, and you can pick up tickets from any authorised retailer or choose your numbers online here.
